New Colonies

After attempting (without success) to bring down this big, sturdy tree in colony Nordenheim, the colonists decided to leave it standing while clearing bush for farming.
Hans and Jerry H. went to visit various new colonies last week Thursday to Saturday, including this one. It is interesting to see people move out into the wilderness and start a new life...from scratch, ie. living in tents, clearing the land, cooking on open fires, dealing with insects, etc. etc. Interesting - yes ... admirable - not sure ... would I want to be doing this? NO!! Living in Santa Cruz has its own challenges, but I'm sure it's nothing compared to what these adventuresome colonists face.
