Jessica

Jessica received a very exciting phone call from her art teacher at school about a week ago. Our school always enters an international art contest in Japan every year, and this year the art teacher once again had students prepare something for the contest and sent it off to Japan. When we had our school's closing ceremonies a few weeks ago, the art teacher went up and said that she had not received any word from Japan. She had tried to contact someone there, but language was a barrier and she just wans't able to find out if anyone from our school had won.
Well, about 2 weeks later, the art teacher received news that yes, someone from our school had won, and guess who it was....JESSICA SCHROEDER!! You should have seen Jessica's face when her teacher told her..."What! They picked me? Really??" She was very surprised and very excited. She has a package coming in the mail and we are all waiting expectantly for it.

Jessica will be going into Grade 5 in August. She is a bit nervous about it but also excited. She is enjoying her piano lessons and progressing rapidly. She is also taking Spanish classes twice a week and her parents are realizing that her Spanish is much better than they thought it was! :)

I love the picture you have here of the girls. And we are really proud of Jessica too. She really is something else.
