Kailey started taking Violin lessons in March of this year. She had been asking for lessons every since she saw one of her friends learning to play the violin. We are very fortunate to have a fellow MCCer, Lindsey Fretz-Frye, center seated, for her teacher. Lindsey has been taking violin here in Bolivia and is passing her wisdom and knowledge on to her students. We are doing the Suzuki method which requires that a parent is also actively involved in the lessons...hence, I'm benefitting as well by learning how difficult yet enjoyable it is to learn to play the violin. We are having an awesome time!Kailey and I are pictured here with Laurie Longenecker and her son Nathan who are also taking the lessons with us. It has been great to get together, learn, practice, and develop a new skill together.
Kailey is also taking Spanish classes twice a week and is having a lot of fun there. She is able to understand Spanish well, but she has a hard time expressing herself in Spanish. She has completed Grade 2 and is excited about going to Grade 3 in August when school starts up again. She is having a lot of fun with the paper dolls her Grandma brought her last month.
